Jean Marie Jurek, 57, of Willmar, died Sunday, October 28, 2018, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 2nd at Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm, Thursday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
Jean was born February 3, 1961, in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Roy and Betty (Peterson) Sharp. After moving to Minnesota, Jean attended school and graduated from Grey Eagle High School and following high school she lived in St. Cloud.
On January 15, 2000, she was united in marriage to Paul Jurek in Pipestone. They lived in Balaton until moving to Willmar in 2003. She most recently worked for Divine House and was currently working at Safe Avenues as a shelter advocate.
Some of Jean’s favorite past times along with playing games and doing word puzzles were fishing, camping, traveling baking, canning and watching soap operas. More than anything, Jean cherished every time she could attend Donald’s baseball, basketball and football games as well as watching the Vikings and Timberwolves.
Surviving are her husband, Paul; son, Donald and siblings: Sherry (and Glen) Hiltunen of Sauk Centre, Cindy (and Jim) Schwalbe of St. Cloud and Bonnie (and Bob) Arnzen of Freeport and beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald Sharp and sister, Kay Wolbeck.
