Jean Waletzko

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Avon for Jean Waletzko, age 94 of Avon who passed away peacefully on Sunday. Rev. Gregory Miller, OSB will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9AM until the time of services Thursday at the church in Avon.
Jean was born on May 5, 1922 to Valentine and Frances Jarnot in Holdingford, MN. She married Norbert Waletzko on September 1, 1945. Jean was employed at the Avon Post Office as the Postmaster and also St. John’s University. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, camping, fishing and spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her children, Dale (Ace) and Katie Waletzko and Diane (Muggs) and Tom Torgerson.
She was also blessed with 7 grandchildren, Rob, Sara, Patrick, Becky, Kari, Andy, Jeffrey; and 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Violet Meagher and Marlene Gill.
