John Henry Koopmeiners

John Henry Koopmeiners, age 69, of Reno, NV, died on March 17, 2017 in Reno, NV at Reno Renown Hospital surrounded by his wife and children. He died from complications following a vehicle accident. Cremation was performed by Simple Cremations in Reno, NV. His ashes will be interred in Minnesota at a future date.
John was born on February 14, 1948 in St Cloud, Minnesota to John Aloys and Verena (Roering) Koopmeiners. He married Toni I. Poepping on August 12, 1972 in Spring Hill, MN.
John attended Country School through the 8th grade and graduated from Upsala High School in 1966. He was in the army from 1967 to 1969 during the Vietnam War serving in Korea with the Communications Division. He loved working with his hands doing woodworking and traveling by RV.
He is survived by wife, Toni of 44 years; Jacqueline L. Niemczak and husband Wesley (children: Nathaniel and Elizabeth) of Oregon; Lenora A. Koopmeiners-Barr and husband, Douglas (Step-son, Nathan Barr) of Vacaville, CA; Joan M. Koopmeiners (child: Sofia Gutierrez) of Rosarito, Mexico; Chad E. Koopmeiners of Fairfield, CA; siblings: Bernelda Goeser (Maurice); Theresa Hollermann (Richard); Mary Ann Eickhoff (Alvin); and, Frank Koopmeiners (Joyce); mother-in-law, Rose Poepping; and, sisters-in-law: Bernice (Poepping) Nathe, Marlene (Poepping) Otte, Irene (Poepping) Eiden (Darrell). John is survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.
John was preceeded in death by his father, John A. Koopmeiners on August 9, 1994; mother, Verena (Roering) Koopmeiners on April 13, 2012 infant sister: Mary Koopmeiners on Dec 22, 1951; nephew, Daryl George Goeser on August 10, 1969; father-in-law Anthony H. Poepping on October 16, 2010, brothers-in-law: Elmer J Otte on January 30, 2009 and Allen J Nathe on January 1, 2013.
