Joseph “Joey” Higgins passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the age of 34, in Avon, Minnesota.
He is survived by his parents, Pat and Christi, his sister, Tiffany, brother-in-law, Wade, and two nephews, Colton, and Luke, as well as his brother, Andy and girlfriend Katie, and his companion cat who will also miss his hugs. Joey is also survived by his paternal grandmother Lucy Higgins, and his aunts, uncles, and cousins from Washington State.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Michael Blaine, paternal and maternal grandparents, Don and Hazel Blaine, and paternal grandfather, James Higgins, all from Washington State.
Joey will be remembered as a hardworking man who worked many years in heavy road construction. Growing up, he played baseball with the Roscoe Rangers and football at Paynesville Area High School. He loved spending time with his nephews, playing video games, and attending their basketball, football, and baseball games. Some of Joey’s favorite hobbies included attending rock concerts with family and friends, mudding with both his truck and four-wheeler up north, his ice fishing trips up north, deer hunting, duck hunting, and open water fishing trips with family and friends. He was an avid dart player and pool shark.
Please join us for Joey’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 840 Lake Ave, Albany, MN, 56307, at 1:00 PM. Appetizers and refreshments are to follow the service in the attached Church Hall. There will be a free-will donation box set up at Joey’s Celebration of Life. The family will have memory books available to share a special thought or moment of Joey and what he meant to you. It will give the family priceless memories to have going forward.
Joey was well known for his enormous heart and listening ear. He loved and helped so many people in his short lifetime. Joey cherished his family and friends and knew how to live life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed.
