Motorists can expect single-lane closures and delays as crews begin to resurface Highway 25 from 28th Street SE in Brainerd to the Morrison County line, Crow Wing County, on Monday, Sept. 9, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Work will occur Monday to Friday during daylight hours on good weather days until early October.
Motorists will encounter alternate one lane, one way traffic with use of flaggers and a pilot car. Work will be done in segments, so expect the work area to change and move.
MnDOT advises travelers to always slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate through with care and caution. Other reminders:
Never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones
Stay alert; work zones constantly change
Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment
Obey posted speed limits; fine for a work zone violation is $300
Minimize distractions behind the wheel
MnDOT will resurface the roadway (mill and pave), and when complete, motorists will notice a new, smoother ride.
In 2025, MnDOT will resurface Highway 25 from the Morrison/Crow Wing County line to north of Pierz and from south junction Highway 27 to south of Genola, which includes three box bridges over waterways. Visit the project webpage to learn more: www.mndot.gov/d3/projects/h25morrison.
