Leona E. Jacobs Moscho

Leona E. Jacobs Moscho, age 90 of Melrose, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the CentraCare Nursing Home in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 5 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. followed by the Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Leona Elizabeth Wensman was born July 20, 1924 in Albany, Minnesota to Casper and Anna (Enneking) Wensman. She was united in marriage to Norbert Jacobs in June of 1946 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. Together they had eight beautiful children. The couple farmed in Little Sauk, Minnesota. When Norbert died in 1960, Leona moved the family to Melrose. She was a hard working woman working at Jennie-O’s, the school cafeteria and the VFW. Leona loved to cook, bake, garden, and play cards. Later in life, she married Joe Moscho.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Melrose and a member of the Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary.
Leona is survived by all eight of her children, Roger (Arvis) Jacobs of Bowdle, South Dakota, David (Terri) Jacobs of Surprise, Arizona, Diane (Larry) Rasmusen of Sauk Centre, Eugene (Karen) Jacobs of Oak Park Heights, Ruth (George) Hiltunen of Sauk Centre, Joyce (Al) Meyer of Sauk Centre, Ann (Rich) Reed of Big Lake, and Norma Jacobs of Upsala; 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Monica Frieler, Rose Hempel, Ann Stocks, Betty Kampsen, and Ed Wensman.
Leona was preceded in death by her husbands, Norbert Jacobs and Joe Moscho; parents; granddaughter,
Shana Jacobs; sisters, Juletta Rachey, Hildegard Rosen, and Irene Donahue; and brothers, Leander and Ralph Wensman.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
