Linda L. Raeker, age 60 of New Munich, died peacefully, surrounded by her family after a year long battle with cancer on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta, Minnesota.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Eberhard Schefers officiating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Linda Louise Balster was born July 27, 1958 in Worthington, Minnesota to Bernard and Elizabeth (Burkard) Balster. She was united in marriage to Richard Raeker on December 20, 2003 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. Linda was a professional alteration tailor for 32 years. She then owned Linda’s Aromatherapy for seven years and truly loved traveling with her family for craft sales.
She was a member and teacher of 7th grade religion at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. Linda served as secretary/treasurer at Catholic United Financial and was a chairman for Munich Fest.
Survivors include her children, Jared O’Malley of Melrose and Genia O’Malley of St. Cloud; brothers and sisters, Ed Balster of Aurora, South Dakota, Gerald (Tammy) Balster of Lake City, Florida, Roseanne Wabeke of Kevin, Montana, and Joan Altman (Tim) of Adrian.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Raeker on April 17, 2010; son, Jason O’Malley in 2009; parents; brother, Leon Balster; and sister, Shirley Balster.
Urn bearers will be Ruben and Cindy Bertram.
Memorials are preferred.
