Join us for the 2015 Local Foods College. This 4th annual series of eight sessions is designed for gardeners and farmers that are part of the growing community-based food system. The webinar format is handy for many participants to acces from home or office locations. Sessions focus on fertility, pollination, marketing and fermentation.
The first session of the series will be held on evening of Tuesday, January 13, 2015, and will continue on Tuesday evenings through March 3. The series will be available via webinar, so participants can join at home or at one of several locations throughout northern and central Minnesota. Registration is FREE with print-your-own materials.
Session topics include: Natural Soil Fertility; Vegetable Production Tips and Tricks; Marketing and Business Planning; Pollination; Deep Winter Greenhouses; Growing in Small Spaces; Food Hubs and Farm to Bottle.
Participants will learn from practitioners, educators, and those involved in the growing movement to build resilient local foods systems.
The Local Foods College is part of a movement to strengthen local and regional food systems. The 2015 Local Foods College is supported by University of Minnesota Extension, the Statewide Health Improvement Program and Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education.
