Loren A. Williams

Loren A. Williams, age 87 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 27 at First United Church of Christ in Sauk Centre with Rev. Timothy Sutton officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.
Loren Adrian Williams was born October 21, 1927 in Judson Township, Blue Earth Township, Minnesota to William and Addie (Romack) Williams. He graduated from Garden City High School in Garden City, Minnesota and then graduated from Mankato State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Loren served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he drove tank south of the 38 degree parallel in Korea.
He was married for 34 years to Nancy Randall before their divorce. He was united in marriage to Beverly Fuller on February 16, 2001 in St. Cloud. Beverly passed away on October 24, 2009. Loren worked for the State of Minnesota at the Hastings State Hospital and was the business manager at the Home School until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Sauk Centre and the American Legion Post 67.
Loren’s passion was his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. After his retirement, Loren had logged over 358,000 miles and rode until he was the age of 86. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his children, Kevin (Ruth) Williams of Norwood Young America, Scott Williams of Richfield, Lori (Steve) Bona of Delano, Michaela (Tim) Quello of Plymouth, and Matt (Martha) Williams of Sauk Centre; 13 grandchildren with one on the way; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly Williams; and brothers, Bill and Bob Williams.
Serving as casket bearers were Josh Williams, Parker Williams, Reid Williams, Dominic Bona, Kelly Schmiesing, and Derek Schmiesing. Honorary bearers were John Williams and Jesse Williams.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
