Lorraine C. Fischer, age 77 of Melrose, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 22 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Lorraine Clara Doll was born November 16, 1946 in St. Martin, Minnesota to Henry and Anna (Fuchs) Doll. She grew up in Avon where she went to school and helped on the family farm. She then began working at Jennie-O where she met Clarence. She was united in marriage to Clarence Fischer on May 5, 1973 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose. The couple raised their family and later, Lorraine enjoyed babysitting for Roman’s children and her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose. Lorraine enjoyed word searches, puzzles, and helping put Clarence’s flea market items together. She loved watching the Minnesota Twins, wrestling, and old time westerns, listening to old time country music, and knitting afghans which she would often donate to the Eagle’s Healing Nest in Sauk Centre.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Fischer of Melrose; children, Keith (Anne) Fischer of Freeport and Tammy Fischer of Alexandria; grandchildren, Ethan and Alexis; brothers and sister, Donald “Clem” (Mary) Doll of Avon, Leona (Ronald) Maidl of Avon, and Roman (Sheila) Doll of Melrose; and brother-in-law, Ervin Bueckers of Melrose.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Bertha Bueckers.
Memorials are preferred.
