Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MN for Lorraine Ida Mae Evens age 82 of Albany, MN formerly of St. Joseph, MN who died on Monday, June 4, 2012 at the Albany Hospital in Albany, MN. The Reverend Eberhard Schefers will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., and 1 hour prior to the services both at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph. St. Joseph’s Parish prayers will be at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Lorraine was born on June 28, 1929 the daughter of Victor and Mary (Gill) Bovy at St. Joseph, MN. She was a long-time resident of St. Joseph where she worked for the College of St. Benedict in housekeeping for 18 years, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Council of Catholic Women, both in St. Joseph.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Alvin in 1990 one grandson, Chad in 1995 and two sisters, Marie Salzer and Hildegard Ertl.
She is survived by her five children, Orville (Margie) Evens of Avon, Shirley (Mel) Walz of St. Cloud, David Evens of St. Cloud, Kevin (JoAnn) Evens of St. Joseph, and Floyd (Gwen) Evens of Canby, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one sister, Adeline (Norbert) Yurczyk of St. Stephen, one brother-in-law Fred (Fritz) Salzer of St. Joseph, other relatives and many friends.
