Louise Loxterkamp, 84 year-old resident of Swanville, MN passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville, MN with Father Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Burial took place in the St. John’s Parish Cemetery in Swanville, MN.
Louise was born on November 16, 1927 in Melrose, MN to the late Joseph and Josepha (Middendorf) Hiltner. She grew up and attended Country School in the New Munich. Louise was united in marriage to Anthony Loxterkamp on April 6, 1948 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich, MN. Louise and Anthony farmed one half mile south of Swanville, MN from 1948 until 1997 when they moved into the town of Swanville. She was a homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her children and the farm. Louise was an avid quilter, coin collector and gardener. She was an active member of the Christian Mothers and St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville, MN. Louise also enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which she spent many hours babysitting as they grew up. In 2008, she relocated to Little Falls where she resided at Diamond Willow Assisted Living. Louise was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her family.
Louise is survived by sons, Duane Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN, John Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN, Marvin Loxterkamp of Minneapolis, MN, Alan Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN, Gary Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN, James (special friend Stacey) Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN, & Michael (Janice) Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN; daughters, Kathleen (Gerald) Zyvoloski of Sobieski, MN, Lois (John) Blais of St. Michael, MN, Debra (Mark) Sieben of Swanville, MN, Michelle (Anthony II) Notermann of Swanville, MN; twin-brother, Louis (Rita) Hiltner; brothers, Erwin (Marge) Hiltner, Vernon (Alison) Hiltner, and John (Eileen) Hiltner; sisters, Marie Vos, Doris (Eddie) Schneider, and Jane (Virgil) Fuchs; sister-in-law, Patricia (Allen) Ehlert; 34 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Louise was preceded in death by husband, Anthony Loxterkamp; grandson, Darin Loxterkamp; parents, Joseph and Josepha Hiltner; sister, Edna Cherne; and brothers, George Hiltner and Joseph Hiltner Jr.
Honorary casketbearers were the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Louise and Anthony Loxterkamp.
Pallbearers were Ryan Zyvoloski, Matthew Blais, Chad Blais, Aaron Loxterkamp, Trevor Loxterkamp, and Joshua Kircher.
Funeral arrangements were with the Shelley-Gibson Funeral Chapel in Swanville, MN.
