Lucille A. Shutter-Dehn, 92 year old resident of Long Prairie, MN, formerly of Little Falls, MN, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Valley View Estates Assisted Living in Long Prairie. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville, MN with Pastor Kevin Zellers, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Moses Dane Cemetery in Burtrum, MN. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 AM on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with Shelley-Gibson Funeral Chapel in Swanville, MN.
Lucille Augusta Lentz was born on January 24, 1924 to Fred and Lydia (Rahn) Lentz in Bruce Township, Todd County, Minnesota.
Lucille married Glenn Shutter on November 10, 1942 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville, MN. The couple farmed in the Burtrum area until 1943, when they moved to Long Prairie, MN. She was employed at the Super Value store and at Cathedral Press in Long Prairie. She married Ray Dehn in 1989. Lucille was an excellent cook, she loved family get-togethers, playing guitar, music and dancing.
Lucille is survived by her sons Larry (June), Little Falls, MN; Ronald (Susan) Long Prairie, MN; her brother Duane (Patty), Burtrum, MN whom she raised and special friend Milo Hartwig. Grandchildren Bridget (Dan) Minke, Jeremy (Sarah) and Justin (Makenzie) Shutter, Penny (Danny) Benning, Misty (Cubbie) Lemke and Marshall Shutter. Great-grandchildren Abbey and Natalie Minke, Gavin, Glenn, Sam and Lydia Shutter, Megan and Nathan Benning and Allie and Tyler Lemke, brothers Duane and Freddie (Eunice) Lentz and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Glenn and Ray, daughter Janice in 1951, sisters Margaret Kreutzer and Marcella Leckwald.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Justin Shutter, Bridget and Dan Minke, Penny and Danny Benning and Misty and Cubbie Lemke.
