Lucille Chromey-Ehrenberg, 90 year old resident of Little Falls, MN formerly of Grey Eagle, MN passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Little Falls Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle, MN with Pastor Ron Tibetts officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Grey Eagle, MN.
Lucille was born on July 15, 1924 in Douglas County, Minnesota to the late William and Hulda (Polley) Garvin. She grew up in Douglas County and attended Country School at District #7. Lucille was united in marriage on November 10, 1940 to Norbert Chromey in Osakis, MN. The couple lived and farmed in the Villard area until 1950 when they built their farm in Grey Eagle, MN. Lucille moved off her farm in 1989 and she lived in Long Prairie for a short time and later moved to Little Falls, MN. On March 30, 1998 she was united in marriage to Art Ehrenberg. Lucille was a talented quilter, an excellent gardener, and a wonderful cook. She was also very knowledgeable on a wide variety of subjects. Lucille was a life time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle, MN. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Lucille is survived by sons, Richard Chromey of Browerville, MN, Gerald (Diana) Chromey of Hewitt, MN, Dean (Helen) Chromey of Browerville, MN, John (Jeanne) Chromey of Fall Creek, WI, and Mark (Kris) Chromey of Alexandria, MN; daughters, Diann (Alto) Finken of Cold Spring, MN, Sharon Chromey of Brooklyn Park, MN, Beverly (Robert) Messinger of Little Falls, MN, and Kay Chromey of Colorado Springs, CO; and 38 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Lucille was preceded in death by husband, Norbert Chromey (1989) and Art Ehrenberg (2000); daughters, Janet Mallak, Holly Chromey, and Colleen Henrich; grandchildren, Katie Zapzalka and Jerrod Zapzalka; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Casketbearers were Ben Messinger, Kenton Chromey, Roby Henrich, Cory Finken, Travis Listful, Isadore Mallak Jr., Nicholas Chromey, and Patrick Chromey.
