
Margaret “Marcy” Heinen, age 77 of Avon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 surrounded by her family at her home.
A Memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon with Rev. Greg Miller.
Margaret Valeria Friedrichs was born November 28, 1939 in Sauk Centre, MN to Roman and Johanna (Koch) Friedrichs. Marcy graduated from Sauk Centre High School. She worked at Thoel’s Dental Lab in her early years and then worked at the Avon Elementary School as a secretary until her retirement. Marcy married Terry Heinen on January 6, 1962 at Holy Angels Parish in St. Cloud.
Marcy was a big fan of all Minnesota sports teams. She enjoyed playing cards, crafting, baking, and occasional trips to the casino. Marcy was a member of the Christian Mothers and St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon where she was involved in bible study and the meals on wheels program for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Heinen of Avon; children, Mary Beth (Jeff) Crawford of Oconomowoc, WI and Renee Tamm of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Allison Tamm, Megan Datta, Nic Herda, Ben Tamm, Emily Schlangen, Nate Crawford, Maria Crawford, and John Crawford; great-grandchildren; Jaeden and Croix Schlangen; and sister and brother, Evelyn (Harold) Bisel and Bobby (Junie) Friedrichs.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Johanna; daughter, Lynn Heinen-Herda; and brothers and sisters, Vernie Friedrichs, Arlene Schmitt, Artie Friedrichs, Tootie Libbesmeier, and Richard Friedrichs.
Serving as urn bearer was Ben Tamm. Cross bearer was Maria Crawford and scripture bearer was Nate Crawford. Lectors were Emily Schlangen and Allison Tamm. Reading petitions was John Crawford. Gift bearers were Ben Tamm, Bryan Schlangen, Nate Crawford and Maria Crawford.
