Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Marie K. “Tootie” Pueringer, age 94, of Holdingford, was held Monday, September 29, 2014 at Church of All Saints–St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holdingford. Marie passed away Thursday, September 25 at her home in Albany. Burial took place in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Holdingford.
Marie was born January 31, 1920 in St. Joseph, MN to Frank and Mary (Lenzen) Danzl. She married Frank S. Pueringer on October 25, 1945 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. They lived and farmed in the Holdingford area from 1947-1975. They moved near St. Francis for 20 years and returned to Holdingford in 1998. She was an active member of All Saints–St. Mary’s Parish, Christian Women, Rosary Sodality and funeral lunch committee.
Marie enjoyed bird watching, sewing, quilting, crafts, cooking for her family and playing 500. She will also be remembered for helping make over 1400 rosaries for the Mission in Nicaragua.
Marie is survived by her children Robert (Donna) of Holdingford, Elizabeth “Betty” of Albany and Alan “Pebble” (Lynne) of Holdingford, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Frank (2010), brothers Peter, Al, Fred, Victor, Willard and Lee Danzl and sisters Lucetta Zimmer, Gertrude Kapsner and Margie Broker.
