It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Walker. She was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many.
Mary Elizabeth Walker was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She left this world on Friday, August 14, 2026 after a long battle with dementia.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 22 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. A graveside service will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Satuday in Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre following the Celebration of Life.
Mary was born on April 2, 1946 to Bob and Ann (Van Havermaet) Bruggenthies of Grey Eagle, Minnesota. She graduated from Grey Eagle High School in 1964.
Anyone who knew Mary was touched by her kindness, humor, and mild temperament. She was truly a peacemaker and was always a source of positivity with a big heart. Mary loved being with family, friends, animals, and spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for her family.
Mary is survived by her husband, Dave Walker; sisters, Jane (Skip) Ostenberg and Jean (Virgil) Jennen; brothers, Richard (Carol) Bruggenthies, Ronald (Cindy) Bruggenthies, and Ralph Bruggenthies; daughters, Debra (Mark) Meagher and Brenda (Todd) Kise; stepchildren, Paula (Mark) Davenport, Peggy (Larry) Wittmann, Jim Ahles, David (Lori) Walker, Jr., Roxanne Walker, and Johnny (Tanya) Walker; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Ann Bruggenthies; brother, Robert Bruggenthies, Jr.; husband, Carl Ahles; and grandson, Joshua Kise.
Memorials can be made to donor’s choice.
