Michael John Lewerke, 57 year old resident of Bowlus, passed away January 4 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls. A private family service is being planned for a later date.
Michael John Lewerke was born on March 28, 1966 at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to Paul and Linda (Bahr) Lewerke. Michael grew up in the Annadale, MN area. He graduated from Annadale High School with the class of 1985. After high school he attended the Minnesota School of Business for Law Enforcement. He was united in marriage to Cindy Lincoln and the couple later divorced. Michael owned and operated Country Side Decorating for several years. He was given the name “Painter Mike” by family and friends. Michael was always willing to help others and participating in AA for many years. He enjoyed camping trips with his children, Austin and Lexi and refurbishing Schwin bicycles. He was in his happy place feeling the wind in his hair riding his motorcycles with family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Austin Lewerke of Bowlus, Alexandra Lewerke of Glencoe; mother, Linda (Harvey) Olson of Buffalo; sibilings, Robert Lewerke of MN and Tammy (James) Jensen of Buffalo; grandchildren, Alana, Kaison, Graceson and Carter and his dogs, Soboka, Sage, Junior and Peanut and his cat, Peppin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Lewerke; aunt, Debbie Lewerke and maternal and paternal grandparents.
