Michael Reinbold

August 22, 2018 by Hometown News

Michael George Reinbold, 66 of Long Prairie, passed away at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with renal cancer on August 20, 2018. Funeral services were held Monday, August 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie with Pastor Noah Wehrspann officiating. Interment was at Bearhead Cemetery, Burtrum.
Mike was born May 1st, 1952 in Little Falls, to Art and Irene (Heincke) Reinbold. He graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1970. Mike went to work for Victor Clothing Company for a short time then went to Long Prairie Packing Plant; where he picked up deboning skills that were a necessary tool for deer hunting. He graduated from Wadena Technical School and started his career at Todd-Wadena Electric. He married Pamela Eidenschink on August 25, 1979. He began working at Minnesota Power and kept the lights on in your home for over 40 years. After retirement he kept busy doing farm work for family. Mike was part of the Long Prairie Fire Department for 20 years, Cedar Lake Gun Club and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was the Bruce Township Supervisor.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, collecting agates, stopping at garage sales to look for buried treasures and spending time with family and friends; especially his grandkids.
Mike was able to get away from the water tower long enough to take a trip to Alaska with his wife Pam, “Denver,” North Dakota for pheasant hunting and going to the shack for fishing along with many other trips.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, dance moves and some sayings like “do the math, half of nothing is still nothing, and really.” Mike was devoted and caring to others, giving his time and energy to help those in need and never asking for anything in return. He will always be loved and missed by all family and friends.
Mike is survived by his wife Pam, of Long Prairie; children: Nathan (John) Reinbold-Bork of Burtrum, Courtney (David) Brown of Oak Grove, Lindsey Reinbold of Little Falls; grandchildren: Addison Engstrom, Carter Brown, Josilyn Brown and Emmalyn Reinbold; siblings: Carmen Lyon of Grey Eagle, Judy Hommerding of Bemidji along with many nieces and nephews.
