**Death Invesitgation**

On March 21 the Paynesville Police Department received a missing persons report from family members of Wilbert and Gloria Scheel. They were concerned as the Scheels had missed a dinner appointment and couldn’t be located. On March 22 the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office joined the Paynesville Police Department in the investigation. An attempt to locate and BCA Crime Alert was issued to seek the public’s assistance in locating Wilbert and Gloria Scheel and their adult grandson Gregory Scheel. Information regarding a 2011 Toyota Prius was also provided. At approximately 5:10 P.M. the Toyota Prius was located on rural road in Kandiyohi County. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Paynesville Police Department, Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota BCA responded to the scene. Investigators discovered the bodies of two elderly adults inside the Prius. That portion of the investigation is being conducted by the MN BCA and the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office. The bodies will be transported to the Mid-West Medical Examiner’s Office in Anoka County for autopsies and postive identification. At approximately 9:09 PM Gregory Scheel was located and taken into custody by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office south of where the Prius was located. Scheel was arrested on a Kandiyohi County Apprehension and Detention order and booked into the Kandiyohi County Jail. The Paynesville Police Department, Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota BCA agents and crimes scene team continue to work together on this active investigation.Law Enforcement is not looking for any other individuals and there is no present threat to the public. No further information will be released at this time.
