Morrison County August 28, 2017

Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen reports that on 8-28-17 at approximately 6:00 am, a search warrant was executed in the city of Pierz. The search warrant stemmed from a joint narcotics investigation which included officers from the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force and the Pierz Police Department.
The Morrison County SWAT Team was requested to assist for the purposes of executing the search warrant. The SWAT Team deployed distraction devices during the warrant to distract and confuse the occupants of the residence. Residents in the neighborhood may have heard loud bangs associated with the distraction devices. No shots were fired during the search. There were no arrests that were made and because this is still an active investigation no more details are readily available for release.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force was assisted at the scene by the Pierz Police Department, Little Falls Police Department, Morrison County Sheriff’s Office and Gold Cross Ambulance.
