Morrison County Sheriff’s Office • June 13, 2017

Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen reports that on 06-12-2017 at approximately 6:40 pm, their office received a report of a fire at Herbie’s Bar in Sobieski, located approximately 5 miles southwest of Little Falls, MN. When deputies arrived the south end of the building was fully engulfed in flames along with two vehicles. The Bowlus Fire Department responded and was assisted by the Little Falls Fire Department, Upsala Fire Department and Flensburg Fire Department.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 4 people were inside the bar when the fire started and everyone was able to escape without injury. There were approximately 70 firefighters present at the scene and the building is considered a total loss. The State Fire Marshal’s Office was notified and will be conducting an investigation.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Bowlus Fire Department and First Response Team, Upsala Fire Department and First Response Team, Flensburg Fire Department, Little Falls Fire Department, MN State Patrol, Gold Cross Ambulance, Morrison County Public Works and Rod’s Excavating and Bobcat out of Little Falls, MN.
