On December 29, 2017, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in Swanville Township. Investigators from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and spoke to witnesses present. No one inside the residence was injured. Investigators located a window that had been shot through from outside the home and were advised by witnesses that 4 individuals left the scene in a Chevy Impala vehicle. One of the suspects was later located in the City of Flensburg.
Through the course of the investigation, investigators were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the City of Browerville, located in Todd County. A search warrant for the residence in Browerville was then obtained for 30940 Hwy. 71. The Morrison County SWAT Team was activated and responded to the residence. Other individuals who were not associated with the shooting were present inside the residence and were arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
The following suspects were arrested by The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office and are awaiting formal charges stemming from the shooting incident:
-Shawn Steffansen, 36 year-old from Taylor, Minnesota
-Anthony Pistachio, 49 year-old from Iona, Minnesota
-Ashley Richardson, 30 year-old from Iona, Minnesota
The Todd County Sheriff’s Office took 2 individuals into custody for controlled substance offences to include:
-William Giroux, 36 year-old, from St. Cloud, Minnesota
-Kayla Pistachio-Fuller, 27 year-old, from Iona, Minnesota.
Pistachio-Fuller will also face charges connected to the shooting.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office believes that this was an isolated incident and there is no known danger to the public. The active investigation continues.
