The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 01-23-2017 at approximately 6:07 p.m., their office received a report of a man that was run over by a tractor at a residence in Elmdale Township near Upsala, MN.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 80 year old Gerald Vornbrock of Burtrum, MN was attempting to start his “Farmall H” tractor by hand with a hand crank and forgot he had it in gear. As the tractor started, it accelerated forward and Gerald was unable to get out of the way, due to the ice. The tractor knocked Gerald to the ground and the back wheel of the tractor ran over his pelvic area. Gerald was transported to St Gabriel’s Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance where his condition is unknown.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the MN State Patrol, Upsala Fire Department, Upsala First Response Team and Gold Cross Ambulance.
