The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 6-24-2022 at approximately 2:44 am, their office started receiving reports of flooding in and around the city of Randall, MN.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Randall area received approximately eight inches of rainfall which started to flood downtown Randall. Emergency personnel responded to the area and started evacuating residences with the use of rescue boats. In total, approximately 30 residences were evacuated and there have been shelters set up at three locations: Dr. S.G. Knight School, St. James Catholic Church and the Randall Presbyterian Church. There have been no reported injuries.
There have been several roads closed due to the flooding and detours are set up. Highway 10 is closed from Little Falls to Motley and all roads in the city of Randall east of Hwy 10 are closed. MN DOT will update 5-1-1 when Hwy 10 is open for travel. The Sheriff’s Office will update their Facebook page as county and city roads reopen.
At this point, we are asking the public to stay away from the Randall area so emergency personnel can do their jobs effectively. The Sheriff’s Office is discouraging people from going into their residences until safe to do so. Drive with caution as many roads are either under water or washed out in the area.
The Sheriff’s Office extends their prayers to the residents of Randall. The effort and support displayed by all emergency responders and residents has been amazing. We would also like to thank the media for assisting us with getting the important safety messages out to residents.
