The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 10-06-2018 at approximately 4:48 p.m., a Morrison County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a black Mazda Protege on Highway 371, north of Little Falls. The deputy observed a traffic violation, made the traffic stop and identified the driver of the vehicle as Nicholas Loch, age 36, from Watkins, MN. A Morrison County K-9 Team responded to the location of the traffic stop, conducted a drug sniff which indicated the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, approximately 51 grams of suspected Methamphetamine was located and seized.
Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen states that a Deputy utilized his drug interdiction training and along with the assistance of a K-9 Team, hundreds of dollars’ worth of illegal narcotic drugs were taken off the streets. Drug trafficking continues to be an issue in rural Minnesota, including our community and we will continue to stay aggressive with enforcement efforts.
