The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 09-03-2016 at approximately 6:21 pm, their office received a report of an ATV accident with injuries at the Red Rooster Bar, in the city of Genola.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 69 year-old Martin Strom of Holdingford, MN pulled into the Red Rooster Bar parking lot and lost control of the ATV he was driving, eventually colliding into a parked vehicle. Strom had his 7 year-old granddaughter, Sophia Strom, from Long Prairie riding with and she was wearing a helmet and not injured. Strom was transported to St. Gabriel’s hospital in Little Falls by Gold Cross Ambulance and he was later airlifted by North Air Care out of Brainerd to HCMC in the metro with serious injuries. Strom was driving a Yamaha ATV and was not wearing a helmet.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Pierz Police Department, Pierz First Response Team and Gold Cross Ambulance.
