Due to the significant rainfall throughout the month of June, several Stearns County lakes are experiencing very high-water levels. Pursuant to Minnesota Rule 6110.3700 Subpart 9, Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is enacting a “No Wake” rule on the following lakes for up to 30 days. This “No Wake” rule will be in place for all watercraft users withing 300 feet of the associated shorelines. The affected lakes are:
Two Rivers Lake – Holding Twp.
Long and Crooked Lakes – Lynden Twp.
Rice Lake – Eden Lake Twp.
North Brown’s Lake – Eden Lake Twp.
Big Lake – Munson Twp.
Entire Sauk River Chain of Lakes – Eden Lake, Munson and Wakefield Twp.’s
The Sheriff’s Office realizes the timing of the 4th of July weekend and this no wake rule will affect many people wanting to enjoy our area’s lakes. However, shoreline erosion and property damage are of concern, and we ask for the public’s cooperation in respecting the lakes and following the no wake rule.
