The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Norris E. Sowada, age 76 of Bowlus, was held Monday, July 21, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in North Prairie. Fr. Laurn Virnig officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery. Norris passed away Thursday, July 17 at his home.
Norris was born September 11, 1937 in Rice to Wensel and Pauline (Dobis) Sowada. He married Irene Gondringer on July 19, 1980 in Avon. Norris worked as a boiler operator, but his main passion was farming. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Norris is survived by his wife, Irene, Bowlus; his children, Amanda (Tim) Gunther, Bowlus; Sarah Sowada, Waite Park; Adam (Katy Shuerman) Sowada, Bowlus and two grandchildren; Maddyson and Landen. He is also survived by his brothers, Delroy (Lillian) Sowada, Seminole, FL; Marvin (Patricia) Sowada, Columbia Heights and Edsel (Joyce) Sowada, Rice.
