Open house Nov. 20 for future Highway 27 improvement project near Osakis

November 13, 2019 by Hometown News

The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites those who travel on Highway 27 in Todd and Douglas counties to attend an open house to learn about a project that will improve the road and bridges along a rural stretch of Highway 27 near Osakis in 2022.

An open house for the future Highway 27 project will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Osakis Community Center at 18 East Nokomis Street in Osakis. There will not be a formal presentation and guests are invited to arrive anytime. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about traffic impacts, ask MnDOT staff questions and take home information.

The estimated $15 million project will reconstruct 14 miles of Highway 27 between Interstate 94 near Osakis and Highway 71 south of Long Prairie in Douglas and Todd counties, reconstruct three bridges over waterways near Osakis, reconstruct the Lake Wobegon Trail bridge over Highway 27 in Osakis, and replace or repair drainage pipes.

For more details, visit the project website at mndot.gov/d3/projects/h27osakis/ or contact Eric Schiller, project manager, at 218-828-5821 or eric.schiller@state.mn.us.

For updated road condition information, call 511 or visit www.511mn.org.
