Paul was born on February 3, 1936, on the family farm in Swanville, MN, to the late Robert and Emma (Hartwig) Mueller. He grew up in the Swanville area and attended Country School District #91 before graduating from Swanville High School with the Class of 1954. On June 3, 1956, Paul was united in marriage to Judy Zastrow, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville. Paul was a proud dairy farmer for 50 years, dedicating his life to the land and the animals he cared for so deeply. Farming was not just his occupation; it was his calling that he carried with great pride. In his younger and later years, Paul enjoyed traveling and created memories along the way. He especially cherished trips to Branson, Missouri, a visit to Hawaii in 1982, and what he often called the trip of a lifetime to Alaska. Paul found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved feeding the birds and squirrels, playing cards, bowling in league and spending time in his workshop as an avid woodworker. He also had a deep appreciation for his John Deere tractors. A devoted fan of the Minnesota Twins, Paul remained passionate about baseball throughout his life, even attending a Twins game at the age of 86. He was actively involved in his community, serving many years on the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church board, ADA and DHIA boards. Above all, Paul cherished time with his family and friends. He had a playful spirit and was especially known for teasing and joking with his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Paul was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where his faith remained a guiding force throughout his life. Paul will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, his love of family, and his unwavering faith.
