Paulette Johnson

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016, for Paulette Johnson, 67, of Long Prairie at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie. Visitation will be Thursday, January 28, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Johnson died January 25, 2016 of cancer at Centra Care Health in Long Prairie.
Paulette Louise was born May 11, 1948 at the Long Prairie Hospital to Ferdinand and Lydia (Schuft) Alsleben. She attended Greenwood School in Round Prairie Township and graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1966. On December 3, 1966, she married Loren Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church. To this union two sons, Kevin and Kurtis, were born. She was employed by Hart Press, the Long Prairie Leader Office and later at the Bargain Barn before she retired. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cross stitching, sewing and especially quilting. She pieced together many quilt tops and cross stitched numerous baby quilts, which she gave as gifts or donated to either the Trinity Lutheran Church Quilting Group or the Quilting Group at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville. For over 35 years she cast and painted plaques for personnel of the fire department. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Lily May. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, F.W. and Lydia Alsleben, three sisters Elda, Selda Benishek and her husband Ben, Lorna Loges and her husband William; two brothers, Milo Alsleben and Darvin Alsleben; foster brother Clarence Brabend; father-in-law and mother in-law Lloyd and Lila Johnson, and brothers-in-law Lowell Lindberg and John Johnson.
Survivors include her husband Loren, sons Kevin (Maggie) Johnson and granddaughter Lily May of St. Cloud and Kurtis of Long Prairie; brothers Orrin (Rose) Alsleben of Winthrop and Larry (Bonnie) Alsleben of Grey Eagle; sisters Delaine Lindberg of Becker, and Melva (Robert) Jensen of Seattle, WA; sisters-in-law Jeanette Alsleben of Long Prairie, Judy (Lyle Sandal) Johnson of St. Francis; and Cheryl Johnson of Swanville; and many, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
