ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Local residents, motorists and others along Highway 371 between Little Falls and Brainerd, and the Lake Wobegon Trail near Sauk Centre, may see smoke from roadside prescribed fires beginning April 13 through May 31.
Traffic should not be affected and all roadways and trails will remain open.
The prescribed fires are used to improve native vegetation and weed control. Trained crews control and conduct the fires within the state right of way during optimal weather conditions to ensure safety and effectiveness.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution and slow down in work zones.
