Ramps from eastbound Highway 10 to Benton Drive South in Sauk Rapids close beginning May 11

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists who use the ramps connecting eastbound Highway 10 and Benton Drive South in St. Cloud will encounter a detour and delays when both ramps are closed at 7 a.m., Monday, May 11. The ramps will re-open by July 3.

Motorists should follow the signed detours, or plan their own alternate routes.

Those planning to travel on Highway 10 in Sauk Rapids and St. Cloud should plan additional time for travel and seek alternate routes during peak travel periods, including the upcoming Minnesota Fishing Opener. Below is a list of current and planned traffic changes:

· Highway 10 between East St. Germain Street and County Road 33 is one lane in each direction with head-to-head traffic switched to the eastbound side of the road.
· Both ramps at westbound Highway 10/Benton Drive are currently. Also, both ramps at eastbound Highway 10/Benton Drive South will close May 11. All four ramps will open by July 3. Signed detours are posted.
· The loop from County Road 29 to westbound Highway 10 is closed until further notice. A signed detour directs motorists along County Road 29 and Highway 15.
· The ramp from westbound Highway 10 to County Road 3/Golden Spike Road, and the loop from County Road 3/Golden Spike Road to westbound Highway 10, are closed until further notice. The signed detour follows County Road 29 and 10th Avenue.
· All lanes of Highway 10 are expected to open by May 22 for Memorial Day weekend travel. After the Memorial Day holiday, Highway 10 will again be reduced to a single lane in each direction with all traffic on the westbound side of the road while the eastbound Highway 10 lanes and ramps are reconstructed.

Updates on future traffic changes will be issued as details become available.

When complete in July 2015, the project will result in a smoother ride on Highway 10, and help ensure the road continues to serve the state for many years.
