Raymond A. “Ray” Jennissen, age 63, of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2014 at his home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 26 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Inurnment took place in the parish cemetery.
Raymond Alex Jennissen was born March 22, 1951 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Peter and Doris (Schramel) Jennissen. He married Denise Mayer on August 30, 1996 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Ray was a mechanic for 43 years and began his career at Heartland Equipment where he worked for ten years. In 1983, he became the owner and operator of Ray’s Repair in Sauk Centre. Ray was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. He enjoyed riding horse, 4-wheeling, camping, and loved talking smart.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Jennissen of Sauk Centre; daughters, Paula (Mike) Larson of Alexandria, Lynn (Patrick) Friedrichs of Sauk Centre, and Mariah Jennissen of St. Cloud; step-daughter, Carie VanBeck of Melrose; grandchildren, Casey Walsh, Carly Walsh, Trishia Walsh, Jordan Friedrichs, Jay Friedrichs, and Arian VanBeck; brothers and sisters, Vi Wiebolt, Elaine (Don) Koester, LuVerne Bokinski, Clifford (Janet) Jennissen, and Dorothy (Joe) Duevel; and sisters-in-law, Marlene Jennissen and Dorothy Jennissen.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis “Fran” Jennissen and Peter “Pete” Jennissen, Jr.; nephews, Rick and Gary; and niece, Janice.
Serving as urn bearer was David “Whitey” Kemper. Cross bearer was Casey Walsh and scripture bearer was Trishia Walsh. Honorary bearers were Blair Weiers, Steve Zenzen, Joe Kemper, Tom Marthaler, Arnie Jenc, Arlan Schroeder, John Nathe, Randy Haas, Mike Denny, Rollie Joarnt, Pete Jung, Duane Burns, Urban Beuning, Dale Hellerman, Henry Pohlman, Bob Pallow, and Brad Meyer.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
