Raymond Stanley Skroch

Raymond Stanley Skroch, 69 year old resident of Elmdale, MN, died Wednesday, April 15 at his home from cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, April 20 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Elmdale, MN with Fr. John Odero officiating. The burial was held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls, MN.
Raymond was born August 7, 1945 in Little Falls, MN to the late Sylvester and Lucille (Warzecha) Skroch. He attended grade school until the eighth grade in Bowlus, MN. Ray then went to Royalton High School where he graduated with the class of 1963. He joined the Army National Guard in 1962 and was called into active duty in November of 1963. In 1965, he started working at Camp Ripley as a Mechanic for the Federal Civil Service and retired in 1995. He was united in marriage to Sharon Paul on October 10, 1966 in Little Falls, MN. Throughout his life he worked various jobs including John and Joyce Gorka’s Catering, Keith Olson installing windows and doors and installing sewer systems with Denny and Sandy Larsen. Ray enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, wood working, metal work and visiting with the family and friends. He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Elmdale, MN and the Bowlus American Legion Post #642.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Paul) Skroch of Elmdale, MN; children, Lynn (Marvin) (Skroch) Kreitman of Gordon, NE, Brian Skroch of Bowlus, MN, Barbara (Bob) Cavegn of Upsala, MN; brothers, Jerome (JoAnn) Skroch of St. Joseph, MN, Dennis (Bernie) Skroch of Bowlus, MN; 11 grandchildren, Jessica (Jake) Andrews, Michael (Karen) Kreitman, Ty Kreitman, Jordon Skroch, Emily Skroch, Raylynn Skroch, Brian Skroch, Jr., Tyler (Patsy) Skwira, Cassandra (Tyler) Fruechte, Chris Cavegn and Matt Cavegn; five great-grandchildren, Claire Andrews, Mason Kreitman, Leah Fruechte, April Skwira and Avery Kreitman.
Ray was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley and Sally (Kuklok) Warzecha and John and Mary (Marsolek) Skroch.
Casket bearers were Ray’s grandchildren, Jessica Andrews, Michael Kreitman, Jordon Skroch, Emily Skroch, Cassandra Fruechte and Matt Cavegn.
The honorary casket bearers were Ty Kreitman, Chris Cavegn, Raylynn Skroch, Brian Skroch, Jr., Tyler Skwira, Mason Kreitman, Claire Andrews Leah Fruechte, April Skwira, Avery Kreitman and members of St. Edward’s Church and the Bowlus American Legion Post #642.
