Regina C. “Jean” Kulzer

Regina C. “Jean” Kulzer, age 88 of Greenwald, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 6 at the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Greenwald with Rev. Mitchell Bechtold officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday morning at the church.
Regina Caroline Kuefler was born June 4, 1926 in Elrosa, Minnesota to Leonard and Caroline (Spillman) Kuefler. She was united in marriage to Albert Kulzer on July 30, 1951 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. After marriage the couple lived and farmed near Greenwald until their retirement in 1974. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Greenwald and St. Ann’s Christian Women.
Jean worked as a postal employee at numerous local post offices. She also worked as a bus driver and was very active at church. One of her favorite things was being a foster grandparent where she was lovingly known as “Grandma Jean”. She enjoyed living on the farm and farm life. Jean spent a lot of time sewing and making crafts, and loved spending time with her sister, Ann.
Survivors include her brother, Joseph Kuefler of Sauk Centre; sister, Anna Marie (Sylvester) Nietfeld of Meire Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Kulzer on July 6, 2005; parents; brothers and sisters, Clara Galvin, Alma Henderson, Edwin Kuefler, Richard Kuefler, Walter Kuefler, Agnes Seger, Margaret Kampsen, Eleanor Acker, and Theresa Kuefler.
Serving as casket bearers will be Joe Nietfeld, James Nietfeld, Jon Nietfeld, Jaycob Nietfeld, Robert Nietfeld, and Leon Kuefler. Cross bearer will be Patrick Nietfeld and scripture bearer will be Sandra Nietfeld. Honorary bearers will be the St. Ann’s Christian Women.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
