Robert “Bob” J. Kleinart

Robert James Kleinart was born on August 15, 1928 in Redwood Falls to Louis and Elizabeth (Oranch) Kleinart. Bob served his country in the United States Navy from 1945–1951, during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago with a Doctorate of Optometry. He was married to Maxine and she passed away in 1992. Bob owned and operated his own Optometry practice, PBR Optical, in Springfield, MN for 45 years. He was married to Patricia Schmid on April 25, 1993. He loved the outdoors and was an avid camper, spending the last 16 years at Whitebirch campground in Breezy Point. Bob loved cars, both vintage and new. He had a meticulously maintained lawn and flower beds. Bob also had a great love for animals. He was a true gentleman, a man of integrity and manners, who never aged.

Survivors include his wife Pat, of Avon; son and daughter, Britt (Joy) Kleinart of the Phillipines and Beth Kleinart of Willmar; stepdaughters, Andrea Crosby of Breezy Point and Stacy Styles of Mendota Heights; daughter in law, Sheryl Kleinart of Golden Valley; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Barry Kleinart; brothers, Walt and Joe Kleinart and sister in law, Ella Kleinart.

Funeral services were held June 3rd at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon.
