The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Robert “Bob” Kohorst, age 85 of Albany, was held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 22, at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany, burial was in the parish cemetery. Bob died Wednesday at the Melrose Hospital.
Bob was born July 18, 1931, in Albany to Clemens and Anna (Buerman) Kohorst. He served in the U.S. Army and returned to Albany where he was a carpenter, running his own company, “Bob Kohorst Construction.” He loved to fish and he enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church, the Seven Dolors Knights of Columbus, the St. Joseph’s Society and the Albany American Legion.
He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Elmer (Aurie) Kohorst, Albany; LeRoy (Joyce) Kohorst, Albany; Arnold (Suzanne) Kohorst, Maple Grove; Melvin (Diane) Kohorst, Bloomington; LuAnn (Jeff) Smith, Baxter; Marlene (Allan) Schwinghammer, St. Cloud; Darlene (Frank) Cooper, Baton Rouge, LA; Viola (Joe) Hagman, Boise, ID and sister-in-law, Mona Kohorst.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ervin Kohorst and sisters, Mildred Kohorst and Jeanette Nistler and brother-in-law, Lee Nistler.
