Services were held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie for Roger Katterhagen, age 80, of Long Prairie who passed away November 18, 2020.
Roger was born April 5, 1940 on the family farm in Ward Township to Edmund and Molly (Drajna) Katterhagen. He attended country school through the 8th grade and worked on the farm until he joined the Army National Guard. Roger married Patricia Skeesick November 9, 1959 in Motley, they lived in Minneapolis for several years where Roger delivered milk. Roger and Pat moved back in 1965 when they purchased a farm in Hartford Township and for a few years, Roger also worked at Hart’s Press. Roger retired in 2005 but he liked to stay busy so he would lend a hand where it was needed. He liked to play cards, make trips to the casino, go fishing and to travel. Roger was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Pat of Long Prairie, children, Steve (Stella) Katterhagen of Long Prairie, Sue (John) Prill of Long Prairie, Julie (Gene) Mueller of Baxter, Tom (Kozue) Katterhagen of Japan, Karen (Troy) Skarolid of Baxter, Brian (Janet) Katterhagen of Long Prairie, Gary (Jessica Olson) Katterhagen of Brainerd, siblings, Marge Evans of Flensburg, Lyle (Cindy) Katterhagen of Long Prairie, Neal Katterhagen of Browerville, Linus (Barb) Katterhagen of St. Stephen, Dale (Marie) Katterhagen of Browerville; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Molly, brother-in-law, Dick Evans and sister-in-law, Sherry Katterhagen.
