Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Roman Medard Forster Jr., age 61 of Albany will be held 11AM Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Father Michael Naughton O.S.B. will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the service. Roman died peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning at Country Manor in Sartell. There will be a visitation from 10-11AM Thursday morning at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home.
Roman M. “Romie” Forster Jr. was born October 14th, 1950 in Saint Cloud, MN to Roman J Sr. and Gertrude (Scherping) Forster. He married Bernie Funk on September 8, 1979 in New Munich, MN. Romie worked at RockTenn in St. Cloud for 38 years. Romie was known as an awesome softball player for many years, and greatly enjoyed golfing. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union, 1976 and Seven Dolors Catholic Church. He was an all around good guy; no one was a stranger for long.
Romie is survived by his wife Bernie Forster, Albany; his children Chad (Kelli Schmitz), Avon; Aaron (Amy Wientjes), Richmond; his grandchildren, Zachary, Dayton, Devon, Brice and Victoria; his sisters, Lorraine (Gerald J) Zenzen, Avon; Kathy Maloney, Paynesville and Pat (Ron) Toenies, Freeport.
He is preceded in death by his parents Roman Sr. and Gertrude Forster, his sister Leona Altenhofen, his brother-in-law, Vern Altenhofen, and nephews and niece, Brian Paglusch, Mark, Lisa and Greg Zenzen.
Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home of Albany.
