Rose “Rosie” B. Pundsack, age 94 of Melrose, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, August 29, 2022, at the Centra Care Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 2 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. A private inurnment will be at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in St. Rosa.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Mary’s Catholic church in Melrose.
Rose Bernadine Pundsack was born December 9. 1927 in St. Rosa, Minnesota to Gerhard and Katherine (Hoppe) Stoermann. She married Walter Pundsack on April 27, 1948 in St. Rosa. Rosie worked as a nursing assistant for 20 years in St. Paul.
Rosie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose, VFW, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, dancing, quilting, and playing cards. Rosie was a loving woman and opened her home to countless families and friends over the years to anyone who needed it. She was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, and friend to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Mary Kay (Jack) Ling of Merrifield, Gary (Mary) Pundsack of Grey Eagle, Allen (Brenda) Pundsack of Glencoe, and Craig (Lisa) Pundsack of Melrose; grandchildren, Sara (Matt) Palmersten, Jeremy (Brigid) Ling, Matthew, Luke, Dylan, Cody, Jake, and Drew Pundsack; and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Emmett, Mairi, and Franky Ling, and Mia Palmersten.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Pundsack; siblings, Rogaria Austing, Julitta Austing, Irene Pundsack, Bernard, Linus, Boniface, John, and Robert Stoermann.
Serving as urn bearers Cody Pundsack and Jeremy Ling. Cross bearer will be Luke Pundack and scripture bearer will be Dylan Pundsack. Readers will be Jake Pundsack and Drew Pundsack. Petitions will be read by Caleb, Emmett, and Franky Ling. Gift bearers will be Mairi Ling, and Mia Palmersten. Eulogy will be read by Sara Palmersten.
Memorials are preferred.
