Scotty D. Palm

Scotty D. Palm, 75 year old resident of Burtrum/Swanville, MN passed away Sunday March 1st, 2015 at the Long Prairie Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Swanville Bible Church in Swanville, MN with Pastor Mike Gunnon & Rev. David Gouldin officiating. Burial will be at Springbrook Cemetery in Swanville. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday all at the Swanville Bible Church. Military rites will be conducted by the Swanville American Legion Post #313 & VFW Post #6037.
Scotty Duane Palm was born on January 31st, 1940, in Burhamville Township, Todd County to Albert E. and Florence A. (Stoll) Palm. He attended school in Burtrum through the eighth grade and graduated from Swanville High School in 1957. He served in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He was united in marriage to Darlene H. Ehrenberg on April 10th, 1976 at the Swanville Bible Church. Scotty was employed by Morrison County as a Civil Engineering Technician for 44 years. He was a member of the Swanville American Legion Post 313 for over 45 years, the Swanville Sportsman’s Club, and a charter member of the Swanville First Response Team. Scotty enjoyed fishing and hunting. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darlene Palm of 38 years; children, Cheryl (Tony) Hyk of Rogers, Tamie (Richard) Wimmer of Swanville, Pamie (Robert) Czech of Little Falls, and Gary Palm of Burtrum and his 8 grandchildren; Zachary, Tyler, Sonja, Ethan, Cody, Abby, Libby, and Anders. He is also survived by this siblings, Judith Heisick of Bowlus, Glenn (Arlene) Palm of Swanville, Leona (Henry) Niemeyer of Long Prairie, and David Palm of Swanville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Scotty was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Baby Wimmer; brothers and sisters, Francis Palm, Herbert Palm, and Betty Staricka; sisters-in-law, Sandra Palm, Dorothy Palm, Joyce Palm; brother-in-laws, Ervin Koehn and Raymond Heisick.
Pallbearers will be Dale Palm, Darryl Palm, Dean Palm, Joe Staricka, Dan Koehn, and Dustin Palm. Arrangements are with the Shelley-Gibson Funeral Chapel in Swanville, MN.
