Private Graveside services will be Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Benedict’s Cemetery in Avon for Severn Jahns who died Sunday at Avon Assisted Living. The Rev. Greg Miller, O.S.B. will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Avon.
Severn was born in Cold Spring to Edward & Adeline (Karl) Stocker. She married Everett Jahns on October 30, 1947. She worked as a model for Montgomery Wards in her early years. Later she worked for Vision Ease, Fingerhut and finally as a classroom assistant at the Avon Elementary School. Severn loved gardening and flowers and birds, she spent a lot of time in her garden.
Survivors include her daughter, Kim (Bruce) Brix of Richmond; grandchildren, Stacy McIntosh-Brix and Joshua Brix, and brother, Floyd Stocker. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Nora, Matias and Vivien McIntosh.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett in 2001, brothers and sisters, Edwin Stocker, Stanley Stocker, Sonny Stocker, Phil Rohms, Rosemary Zieglemeir, and Florence Nelson.
