March 30, 2026 by Hometown News

Sharon Marie Kemper, 72, of Minneapolis passed away peacefully March 15, 2026 at a memory care facility.
Sharon was born on December 30, 1953 to Leo and Marjorie Kemper in Melrose, MN. She graduated from Melrose High School. At Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis she studied to become a nurse. She worked as a registered nurse at different hospitals throughout her career.
Sharon loved gardening, sewing, bicycling, quilting, antiques and caring for dogs. She spent weekends for years with her family on Sugar Lake.
Sharon is survived by her sisters: Lucy Rau (Walter), Karen Massmann and Mary Kemper, brothers-in-law Al Heinen and Ken Thull along with nieces and nephews: Cindy Massmann, Paul Massmann, Brian Massmann, John Massmann, Missy Patterson, Mindy Valenzuela, Erik Heinen, Steve Heinen, Becky LaChappella, Todd Kemper and Tom Kemper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Marjorie Kemper; sisters Maggie Thull and Dorie Heinen; her brother David (Whitey) Kemper; and brother-in-law Bill Massmann.
We take comfort that she is now at peace. We will miss her smile, laughter and sense of humor.
She will be interred in the Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.
