Woman swerves to miss dead deer in roadway, crashes vehicle.
Kelly Lanners, 32, of Albany, was driving a white 2017 Toyota Corolla northbound on County Road 2 when she came upon a dead deer in the roadway. She swerved to miss it and drove into the east ditch striking a sign.
Lanners’ two young sons were passengers in the rear seat and were not injured. They were using their seat belts and child restraint seats.
Lanners, who was also wearing her seat belt, was transported by Mayo Ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and the deer was removed from the roadway.
St. Joseph Fire and Rescue assisted.
