October 15, 2019 by Hometown News

October 14, 2019 – Vehicle rolls numerous times shearing off a power pole.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received an OnStar notification from a vehicle’s device indicating it was involved in an accident. OnStar was able to provide the vehicle’s location near County Road 33 and 233rd Street in Zion Township. Dispatchers attempted to talk to anyone who might be in the vehicle but were unsuccessful.

Deputies arrived in the area and located a one vehicle accident on County Road 33 near 230th St. A 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck was in the ditch and appeared to have rolled numerous times shearing off a power pole. Initially officers were unable to locate anyone with the vehicle.

While on scene, a second vehicle arrived at the crash location and the driver said he had a male in the passenger seat who walked up to his house and was believed to be the driver of the truck.

The male, Brady Wuertz, 32, of Paynesville, admitted he was the driver of the pickup. Wuertz was transported to the Paynesville Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Paynesville Ambulance assisted at the scene.
