**UPDATE** The adult female has been identified as Casey Rose Myers, 30, Holdingford.
On December 17, 2018 at 7:48 a.m., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a crash involving a semi-tractor trailer and an SUV. The crash happened at the intersection of County Road 4 and County Road 133 in LeSauk Township.
Corey William Planck, 46, of Star City, Indiana, was operating a 2000 Kenworth semi-tractor combination northeast on County Road 133 towards the City of Sartell. A 30-year-old adult female was operating a 2017 Subaru Forrester southeast towards the City of St. Cloud on County Rd. 4.
The female driver stopped at the stop sign for traffic and began to proceed through the intersection. Planck failed to stop at the intersection and struck the Forrester on the passenger side. Planck indicated to investigating deputies he did not see the stop sign. The intersection is a 4-way stop design.
It was reported the 30-year-old driver of the Forrester was unconscious and not responding. She was also several months pregnant. She was treated on scene by first responders and medics from Gold Cross Ambulance and transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.
Neither the 30-year-old driver nor her 5-month-old fetus survived the injuries sustained in the accident.
Planck was not injured.
Stearns County Sheriff’s Office along with the Sartell Police Department, Sartell Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the crash.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to assist with accident reconstruction and commercial vehicle inspection regarding the semi-tractor trailer.
This crash remains under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
