On 9/5/2018 at 0029 hours the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a one vehicle rollover accident. Driver, Joseph Michael Gerads, age 55, was traveling eastbound on County Road 186 near Sherwood Road in Grove Township. Gerads lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle went into the ditch on the north side of the road. Gerads over corrected and rolled the vehicle three times before hitting the cement barrier on the Sauk River Bridge. The vehicle came to rest on the bridge deck upright. Gerads sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the crash and was transported via ambulance to the Melrose Hospital. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor. The crash is under investigation by the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
