On November 17th, 2018, at approximately 3:50 p.m., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of County Road 168 and Thunder Road in Melrose Township.
A large commercial type straight truck was eastbound on County Road 168 when it left the roadway at the curve at the intersection. It traveled into the east ditch and fell onto its side. The driver, Bradley Alan Ramstad, 28, of St. Cloud, was able to get himself out of the cab. Ramstad was transported to the Melrose Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
According to Sheriff Don Gudmundson, the truck was hauling US mail. The mail was transferred onto a different truck a short time later. The straight truck was totaled.
Ramstad was cited for a traffic offense stemming from the crash.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Melrose Police Department, Melrose Fire and Rescue and Melrose Ambulance.
